Order business cards printed with white ink – find out how in our video

Business cards are more than a piece of paper with your contact information, they are a sample of your business. Hatch understands the importance of making a positive first impression and offer innovative ideas to help you create business cards that represent your brand personality and are sure to make a visual statement.

If you want to stand out from the competition, order business cards that will do the talking for you! We offer GF Smith paper, a thick and strong 540gsm stock that comes in eight different colours. With our technology, you can print with white ink and create a unique and professional looking card.

To help you make the most of this innovative idea and create business cards that really stand out, we’ve created a simple video with top tips on how to create your design file with white ink.

Watch the video here:

If you prefer reading than watching, here’s an easy-to-follow set of instructions, as showed in the video:

    • 1. Open Illustrator and create a new document for your business card design. Ensure you set H 85mm and W 55mm with 3mm bleed all around.

Top Tip: Remember to leave the canvas colour as white, you will be able to choose the colour of your paper on our website, once you’re ready to upload your file.

    • 2. Design your artwork as usual

Top Tip: If you position elements of your design close to the edge of your business card, ensure they cover the bleed area. This will ensure there are no white edges when your business card is trimmed.

    • 3. Now, you need to create a new swatch – this will let us know what elements of your design should be printed with white ink:
      • a. Start by selecting a ‘New Colour Group…’ in the swatch panel
      • b. Give the New Colour Group a name of your choice
      • c. Double-click on the swatch from your new colour group
      • d. Name it ‘white’ and set as ‘spot colour’ at 100% cyan
    • 4. Now, change the colour of all elements to the new swatch
    • 5. Ensure all fonts are converted to outlines
    • 6. Save your file as PDF and head to our business card page
    • 7. Select GF Smith as paper option and pick your preferred paper colour
    • 8. Select white ink and the quantity needed
    • 9. Upload your file

See, as easy as a pie!
