How to supply your artwork print ready: Physically bound brochures have multiples of four pages. If you only have 6 pages of artwork maybe something better suited would be our folded leaflets CLICK HERE Or.. a work around is to add blank pages into the brochure on the inside cover pages.

So to round up we would prefer a PDF document uploaded to us in page running order for example; Front cover, inside cover, text pages 1-10…

  • Blue outlined circle, containing a blue-outlined rectangle with word 'C M Y K' in blue text. All files uploaded to Hatch should be set to CMYK colour set.
    Colour
Ensure the colour mode is set to CMYK. If your file is set to RGB or Pantone, our handy proofing tool will automatically convert it to CMYK; however, this could slightly alter your colours; for higher control over colour output, ensure your artwork is in CMYK.
  • Blue outlined circle, containing the top corner of a paper, with dotted line around it. All files uploaded to Hatch must contain bleed.
    Bleed
Ensure the background colour runs past the cut lines, creating a bleed area which guarantees your final material won’t have any white edges. As part of our free online proofing service, we will check your artwork bleed is correct. If there is no bleed, our customer-friendly system will automatically add it for you and you will be able to check how it looks in the preview.
  • Blue outlined circle containing a blue-outlined rectangle, with letter T inside. All files uploaded to Hatch must containt embeded fonts.
    Font
Ensure all fonts are embedded into your document for accurate printing. Be sure to check your preview carefully to ensure all the text is visible and accurate.
  • Blue-outlined circle showing a mock-up outlined page. All files uploaded to Hatch must be in the correct format.

Saddle Stitched/ Stapled brochures: Upload only one PDF file with each page of your brochure as a separate page within the PDF in running / page order (page 1,2,3,4). Even though, after printed, you will see pages side-by-side, in your PDF file, each brochure page should be single (we will put them together in the binding process). This includes the covers; the front cover should be one page and the back cover should be another page within the document.

Hard cover and Perfect bound: Upload only one PDF file. The covers should be displayed as a spread (two pages side-by-side within the PDF), and the other inside pages of the brochure should be separate pages within the PDF.

Wiro Bound

The Office binding standard

Wiro binding is a simple process of stacking the document together, punching holes along the edge of the stack.

Then having a metal wire fed through the holes and clamped to form a sealed cylinder of wire to stop the pages coming loose

Basically its like a stretched out slinky holding the document together. Fancy!

A saddle stitched brochure with black background, a blonde-haired woman with 'So Sleek' within a red box covering her eyes.

Put simply, this is a stapled booklet.

In the process for saddle stitched brochure, the printed pages are folded in half and stapled together; the edges of the paper are then trimmed to ensure the booklet looks neat. This type of binding is often used in standard magazines.

Hatch offers two options of paper for the cover: 150gsm or 250gsm – the latter is a bit thicker than the first, offering a steadier feel.
This saddle stitched booklets can have from 8pp to 40pp.

Perfect bound brochure

The process for perfect bound brochures is similar to case bound binding – where the pages are glued into sections and then to the cover, forming a square spine.

The cover is printed on a 250gsm silk card, thicker than the inside pages (150gsm silk paper), to give it a solid and steady look and feel.
If your promotional booklet has 32 pages or more, you can select this type of binding.
