The Office binding standard
Wiro binding is a simple process of stacking the document together, punching holes along the edge of the stack.
Then having a metal wire fed through the holes and clamped to form a sealed cylinder of wire to stop the pages coming loose
Basically its like a stretched out slinky holding the document together. Fancy!
In the process for saddle stitched brochure, the printed pages are folded in half and stapled together; the edges of the paper are then trimmed to ensure the booklet looks neat. This type of binding is often used in standard magazines.
Hatch offers two options of paper for the cover: 150gsm or 250gsm – the latter is a bit thicker than the first, offering a steadier feel.
This saddle stitched booklets can have from 8pp to 40pp.
The process for perfect bound brochures is similar to case bound binding – where the pages are glued into sections and then to the cover, forming a square spine.
The cover is printed on a 250gsm silk card, thicker than the inside pages (150gsm silk paper), to give it a solid and steady look and feel.
If your promotional booklet has 32 pages or more, you can select this type of binding.
